If your oven light bulb goes out or stops working, you will need to replace it so you can continue to check how your food is cooking in the oven. If you open the oven door every time you want to check food, heat will escape and the oven will be less efficient. Fortunately, the process of replacing oven bulbs is quick and can be done by yourself or by a professional.
How to safely replace oven bulbs:
1. Turn off the oven. Make sure the oven is powered off before starting the replacement.
2. Remove the broken bulb. With the cooker turned off, reach inside and unscrew the bulb cover on the back of the oven. After removing the cover, you can unscrew the bulb.
3. Find the bulb you need. You will need to replace the oven bulb with the same model as the one you just removed. All information should be printed on the bulb, so buy the same online or in-store.
4. Install the new bulb. Once you have your replacement oven bulb, it's time to install it. Again, make sure the oven is off and cool. Reach the back of the oven, screw the bulb into place, and put the lid on.
Finally, turn the oven back on and check that the lights are working properly.
